Blackjack Game Plus Rules Strategies and Guides

The Blackjack is the modern heir of an old French
game (the Blackjack) dating the XVIII century. After
a detour by the United States, it is in the second half
of the XXème century that it imposed itself from all
over the world in the casinos. The rules of the
Blackjack changed on a lot of occasions, and will
continue to change. Every casino in the world organizes
its tables as it hears it, what makes that there are the
hundreds of ways different from to play the Blackjack.
It is why the first thing that a player who penetrates
in a circle or a cybercasino must know, it is what are
the rules that are applied. There is a common general
setting that makes the heart of the game however. Here
it is...
The Blackjack is generally played with four games of 52
cards (two of a color, two of another). Sometimes it is
played with six games. The interest for the casino to
multiply the number of games is to put a stop to the
players who count the cards. In general on Internet the
software use only one game but that is fully rebrassé
after every stroke (there is not any interest therefore
to count the cards, the pulls being completely
uncertain). If you think of having marked on Internet a
site that rebrasse not the cards after every stroke,
make me signs most urgently!

The principle of the game is of a simplicity to all
test. He/it consists in getting 21 points or to approach
itself/themselves of it most possible, without passing
this number ever. The valets, ladies and kings are
called the high cards and are worth 10 points. The Aces
are worth 1 point or 11 points according to what the
player decides. The rest of the cards counts for their
facial value.
The players can be from one to seven. Each plays
individually against the croupier, in other words
against the casino. To the announcement "tops your
games!" (Place your bets!) the players make slip the
amount of them bets in the slot foreseen to this effect
and placed before them. With the help of a clog that
contains the four games of 54 cards, the croupier is
going to distribute (one by one and in the sense of the
needles of a watch) two cards to every player as well as
to himself. The cards distributed to the players are
visible; on the other hand on the two that he/it gave
himself/itself, only the first is visible. The second is
turned face against the carpet and is not shown quà the
end (the croupier himself doesn't know it).
Then the croupier is going to propose supplementary
cards individually to every player, while starting with
the one of right. Several choices offer themselves to
the player: TO PULL, TO REMAIN, TO SEPARATE, TO DOUBLE,
TO INSURE.

TO PULL: the player asks for the supplementary cards (as
much as he wants). In the casinos one privileges the
gestures rather than the words (so that the cameras of
security record all): it is necessary to tap the table
of the tip of the fingers. If one of these cards makes
him pass the total of 21, one says that he/it "burns"
and the croupier immediately rows his/her/its bets.
He/it lost.
TO REMAIN: if he/it doesn't want a card or if he/it
doesn't want any anymore, he/it "remains." The gesture
consists in spreading the hand, tense fingers and palm
downwards, and to agitate it from left to right only one
time. This manifest gesture clearly a refusal. The
croupier passes then to the following player.
TO SEPARATE: if his/her/its two cards constitute a pair,
the player can choose to separate them (decision nominee
also under the term English "split"). In this case he/it
advances a setting of amount equivalent to the first,
and the place next to the first bets (ever to regroup
the two!). The croupier is going to be in charge of
separating the two cards and to complete them: again the
player can pull or can remain (attention, if he/it
separated two Aces he/it can only pull one supplementary
card by Ace). If he/it burns, the stake is immediately
recovered by the croupier.

TO DOUBLE: when the two received cards give a total of
9, 10 or 11 the player can double his/her/its bets. It
is according to the croupier's card that the player is
going to decide to double or not (to see Strategy). If
he/it doubles ("doubledown" in English) he/it will only
receive one supplementary card.
TO INSURE: when the croupier's card is an Ace (with a
probability important to make Blackjack, therefore) the
player has the possibility to take the insurance. He/it
deposits then in the slot foreseen to this effect a
stake of an amount equivalent to the half of his/her/its
first bets. If the croupier makes Blackjack the player
loses his/her/its bets initial but doubles his/her/its
bets insurance, what comes back to repay his/her/its
bets initial. The player didn't win, nor lost. If the
croupier doesn't make Blackjack but loses, the player
wins the stroke but loses his/her/its bets insurance.
Finally if the croupier doesn't make Blackjack but wins
nevertheless the stroke, the player loses at a time
his/her/its bets initial and his/her/its bets insurance.
To play the insurance it is necessary to count the cards
and to know the proportion between high cards (T, V, Q,
K) and low cards in the clog. If one doesn't count the
cards or if one plays on Internet he/it is not better
ever to take the insurance.

TO QUIT: this choice is not today more authorized to the
players in the casinos. For example, in Atlantic City
he/it has been suppressed in 1982. "The abandonment" it
was the possibility to refuse some hands, the most
unlikely facing the croupier's card. In these situations
the player decided to lose 50% of his/her/its bets,
because while playing the hand he had the strongest odds
to lose it in totality. It was advantageous for the
player and contributed to reduce the advantage of the
casino; it is for these reasons that that has been
suppressed.
When the croupier finished to serve the players and to
collect the stakes of those that burned, he has to
discover his/her/its hidden card and to use himself.
The croupier's game is automatic and completely
independent of what can have or not the players. It is
written on the carpet: The Bank pulls to 16 and remain
to 17, in other words each time that his/her/its total
is lower or equal to 16 the croupier takes a
supplementary card, and every time that his/her/its
total is equal or superior to 17 it remains.
In some places a variant exists: the possibility for the
croupier to pull on a 17 flexible (Have -6). I would
come back thereon in the section Pulls to explain why it
increases the advantage of the casino.
As starting with the player sat to its right, the
croupier is going to double the stake of all those that
has more than him and to collect the stake of those that
has less. If he/it burned, the croupier doubles all
stakes again on the carpet. Finally, he/it restores the
stake of the players that is to equality with him. The
players who have a natural named Blackjack (Have + high
card) receive the equivalent of once and half bets them
(they are paid to 3 for 2).
